Vinvolved is a UK-wide initiative that encourages young people between the ages of 16-24 to volunteer in their community. It was launched in 1999 and has been able to help thousands of young people gain valuable new skills while helping others. How does it work? The Vinvolved programme helps each young person to work towards achieving up to 200 hours of voluntary work. This can be through work they are already doing or placements found by Vinvolved. They will then receive an award which is a certificate formally recognised by employers, colleges and universities. Volunteering is giving up your time to help others without payment. This can cover a wide range of activities such as youth work, arts projects, sports, animal welfare or environmental work. Each placement is tailored to the young person's interests. What are the benefits? Being able to help others offers extreme personal rewards. However, volunteering can also give young people a chance to develop themselves and their interests, build confidence and self esteem, learn new skills and make new friends. |
Vinvolved Project Workers are here to help you find the right volunteering opportunity. We want to know what you are interested in or feel strongly about. We want you to find out that through volunteering you can make a difference, help others, learn new skills, make new friends and have fun too! |
